Traders of Jembatan Dua Market, Angke Urban Village, Tambora, West Jakarta received socialization about the Gubernatorial Regulation number 142/2019 on the mandatory use of eco-friendly shopping bags for Mall, Supermarket and Folk Market.

" It is done using a loudspeaker thrice in a day."

Jembatan Dua Market Head Tosimin said socialization was planned to be done routinely through joint personnel under West Jakarta Administration.

"It is done using a loudspeaker thrice in a day. We urge them not to use single-use plastic bags," he expressed, Friday (7/10).

Even the eco-friendly bags would be available in the market. His side also socialized the Gubernatorial Regulation number 51/2020 on Transitional Large-scale Social Restriction (PSBB) Towards a Healthy, Safe and Productive Society.

"We appeal to them and shoppers to wear a mask, wash hands using a soap and maintain physical distancing," he stressed.

In the meantime, Cleanliness Management and Waste Division Head Abdul Rahim added most traders had not yet switched to eco-friendly bags.

"Including shoppers in the market," he told.

Which was why, socialization would be conducted intensively in all malls, traditional and modern markets spread over eight sub-districts for a month ahead.

"After this, we will do supervision and impose strict sanction for the breakers," he asserted.
