"Today, I survey flooding points in Kedoya Utara and Duri Kosambi, West Jakarta. In accordance with governor's direction, we must speed up, prevent, and handle floods in Jakarta," he said on the location, Duri Kosambi Urban Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
According to him, flood prevention and handling should be carried out in fast pace. Starting from land acquisition, sheet pile construction and polder system which carried out in collaboration between Jakarta Government and central government, both for funding and technical workmanship.
For information, previously Jakarta Government has discussed flood handling in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Puncak, and Cianjur (Jabodetabek-Punjur) together with PUPR Ministry and ATR/BPN Ministry, as regulated in Presidential Regulation No. 60/2020 which enacted by President Joko Widodo on April 2020.
"Then also today, we will meet with Bappenas Ministry, later in afternoon we will continue to discuss about acceleration in flood handing in Jakarta. Hopefully in the future, we can take steps more quickly in accordance with governor's instructions and directions for flood management and prevention," he added.
He expected, Detail Engineering Design (DED) to complete next month. Thus work on river arrangement can be done this year, including the completion of sheet pile construction and land acquisition.
"Later on, when it has been released and built, God willing, the local residents will be free from flood. For now, when water level is rising, this area is flooded, as well as in Kedoya Utara. Every full moon, when the sea water level rises, it always flooded for at least a week. Hopefully, after it has been built for the next few months there will be no flood,"
In this survey, he also accompanied by Jakarta Setdaprov Development Assistant, Yusmada Faizal; Jakarta Water Resources Agency Head, Juaini; West Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi; and several Jakarta DPRD legislators.
