It is our effort to block rainwater flowing into the channel

"It is our effort to block rainwater flowing into the channel and will be accommodated temporarily and will seep into the specified area," expressed South Jakarta Economic and Development Assistant, Mukhlisin, Tuesday (7/7).

He mentioned those 10 urban villages were Cipedak, Srengseng Sawah, Mampang Prapatan, Cilandak Barat, Pondok Labu, Jati Padang, Pesanggrahan, Pondok Pinang, Cipete Utara and Karet Semanggi.

"Each urban village will later provide a location for the development of absorption wells to South Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency," he explained.

In the meantime, South Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head Mustajab uttered absorption wells would bring the zero ramp off concept, thus they could overcome flooding problem in many places.

"We'll make it with a diameter of 80 to 100 centimeters with 3 to 4 meters depth," he closed.
