West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department dredged mud from channel on Jalan Fajar Baru, RW 07/08, Cengkareng Timur, Cengkareng.

West Jakarta SDA Head, Purwanti mentioned, mud dredging should be done since channel can't hold water optimally due to siltation. It has the potential to cause inundation, especially in this rainy season.

"This is the main channel that connects with sewerage at RW 07 and 08. Currently, some areas are still inundated," he said, Friday (2/28).

According to him, 10 personnel and heavy equipment were deployed to clean the mud from the channel with length 500 meters.

"We dredge 30 centimeters of the mud's thi ckness. Hopefully it can help our residents to be free from inundation," she stated.
