The Jakarta DPRD's Commission B Chairperson Abdul Azis says PT Jakarta must accelerate the use of electric buses, which can be started from Transjakarta bus fleets.

"We want a transformation from non-renewable energy to environmentally friendly renewable energy. Thus there must be an example to mobilize other communities massively," he expressed, Thursday (13/2).
According to him, it aims to implement the Gubernatorial Instruction number 66/2019 on Jakarta Air Quality Control.

As for the information, PT Transjakarta targets all fleets to use electricity by 2030. This policy is conducted gradually and it is targeted to procure 100 units of electric buses this year.
Right now they already have three battery-based electric buses production companies in the country and abroad namely, one bus from PT Mobil Anak Bangsa and two buses from BYD Auto from China. This bus has passed the testing phase, but has not yet operated.
It can be sped up to speeds of 100 kilometers per hour charging time only about 2.5 hours - 4 hours for a distance of 300 kilometers.
