The Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency Head Juani Yusuf revealed 4,000 infiltration wells would be made in Jakarta this year, as its existence is very important to anticipate floods through a more environmentally friendly pattern.
It will be prioritized in flood-prone areas and whose topography is the basin
"This well draws rainwater back into the ground. So rainwater doesn't directly enter the micro and macro channels which can trigger floods," he expressed, Tuesday (2/11).
Those wells, which have listed in e-catalog, will be executed in the forthcoming March. To realize these wells, the agency has aside a budget of Rp 10 billion - Rp 15 billion.
"It will be prioritized in flood-prone areas and whose topography is the basin," he told.
Moreover,
its development has been based on input from citizens and the SDA Taskforce in each sub-district."Besides in residential area, we will also do the same thing on roads that are prone to floods," he said.
