This year, the Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, and Small Medium Entrepreneurs (PPKUKM) Department targets 1,500 participants of Integrated Entrepreneurship Development (Jakpreneur) Program to obtain halal certificates.

Halal certification helps Jakpreneurs to get quality assurance

Jakarta PPKUKM Department's Industry Division Head, Mediawati stated, coached entrepreneurs will be facilitated by dividing them into 30 waves to obtain halal certificate.

"First wave was participated by 50 Jakpreneurs from five Jakarta regions and Thousand Islands Regency," she mentioned, Wednesday (2/5).

Halal certification, she added, is given by Jakarta Government for Jakpreneurs who are active in producing the products every day, have income, assets, and workers.

"Halal certification process is involving the Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs And Cosmetics, the Indonesian Council of Ulama or LPPOM MUI," she explained.

Halal certification's mechanism and assessment process consists of supply, raw material testing, production process, sanitation, and site review.

"They will be assisted before registration thus they understand about things need to be prepared since there are several indicators for this halal certification," she asserted.

According to her, halal certification is very useful in increasing the sale value and gaining trust from the customers.

"Halal certification helps Jakpreneurs to get quality assurance, thus customers can be convinced to buy the products," she closed.
