The Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency cleans up the water channels on Jalan Petamburan I, Petamburan Urban Village, Tanah Abang in order to accommodate water in large quantities.

Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency Head Ahmad Saiful said repair of dam and sluice gate is also carried out around the Jati Pinggir West Flood Canal (KBB), Petamburan.

"The channel itself has 50 cm width and 75 m length. We do this to minimize the potential for flooding," he expressed, on Monday (1/20).

To conduct it optimally, a number of personnel have been dispatched to inundation and flood-prone areas.

"They are on standby before it rains. Certainly we'll do our best to minimize inundation and flood," he stressed.
