Dispusip Commits to Provide Disabled-Friendly Libraries

The Jakarta Library and Archive Department (Dispusip) is committed to provide a disabled-friendly public library in Jakarta.

All library's floors are installed with guiding blocks

For information, Jakarta Public Library that is located in the Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jl. Cikini Raya, Menteng, had been installed with guiding block for blind.

Jakarta Dispusip Head, Wahyu Haryadi mentioned, guiding block installation also carried out in other public libraries in five municipalities.

"All library's floors will have guiding blocks," he conveyed, Friday (12/6).

Its installation has been completed in East Jakarta and Central Jakarta, including in provincial library in Cikini.

Besides that, the Dispusip also equipped 8,000 Braille books in the libraries.

His side keeps discussing and collecting inputs from library visitors in order to develop equality for all visitors, especially those with disability, thus they can be comfort in doing activities in library.

"We talk with library visitors and invite them to visit and do activities in library thus we can know what they need," he said.
