The Jakarta Provincial Government ensures public transportation fares in Jakarta will not increase even though transportation subsidy budget or public service obligation (PSO) is reduced in 2020 City Budget Draft (RAPBD).
" We ensure to provide PSO and it will not automatically impact the fares"
Jakarta Secretary Assistant in Economy and Financial, Sri Haryati explained, reduction in subsidy nominal will not give impact to transportation service fares in Jakarta. Because its amount will be adjusted according to the needs until October 2020.
"We ensure to provide PSO and it will not automatically impact the fare. It should through many mechanisms to make fare increases. BUMD still has a chance to re-submit it in revised APBD," she conveyed at City Hall, Wednesday (12/4).
She continued, even though budget for public transportation subsidy will be adjusted with the needs until October 2020, but Minimum Service Standard (SPM) for public transportation in Jakarta will not decrease.
"Jakarta Government and BUMD in transportation sectors are committed for not decreasing the service. SPM should run," she asserted.
For information, total subsidy for MRT Jakarta as submitted by the Jakarta Government in the 2020 budget priorities and preliminary threshold (KUA-PPAS) is Rp 938 billion, but in 2020 RAPBD, it decreases into Rp 825 billion.
