The PD Dharma Jaya socialized the health benefits of eating buffalo meat to the public in the commemoration of the National Chicken and Egg Day (HATN) at the Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency Office, Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (10/31).
In 100 grams of buffalo meat, it contains about 146 calories
PD Dharma Jaya Business Director Mohamad Adam Ali Bhutto said, nowadays, there are still few people in Jakarta who consume processed buffalo meat. Its meat is much healthier for consumption because more fiber than beef.
"In 100 grams of buffalo meat, it contains about 146 calories. That means this is one of the lowest calorie meats," he expressed.
Additionally, the buffalo meat fat content is also lower than beef. For 100 grams of buffalo meat contains 7.21 grams of fat, and about 55 milligrams of cholesterol. While beef weighing 100 grams contains 10 grams of fat and about 65 milligrams of cholesterol.
"The buffalo meat retail is sold at Rp 75,000 to Rp 80,000, while in the wet market, it is sold around Rp 85,000 - Rp 95,000," he stated.
