The North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency along with Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and University of Indonesia (UI) academic community, socialized the disaster response school to 60 students and teachers of SMAN 114 Jakarta, Jalan Pendongkelan Raya, Cilincing, on Thursday (10/24).

"We share about the danger of fire and simulate fire handling on gas stoves as well as fire handling using portable fire extingusihers (APAR)," disclosed North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan.
He also told that the SMAN 114 building could be used as a refugee camp if a disaster occurs.
University of Indonesia (UI) Academic Representative Arjun added that this was part of a form of community service. Hopefully it could inspire and improve school preparedness in facing disasters.
"Our goal is the community can take mitigation measures thus losses from fire disasters can be minimized," he stated.
