City Wins Two Awards in GSMS 2019

The Jakarta Provincial Government won awards in the field of social media in the 2019 Government Social Media Summit (GSMS) held by PT Awrago Reka Nusa (Awrago) and supported by the Presidential Office Staff and the Ministry of Communication and Information.

We win because of viewers, comments, likes and engagement

They received two awards namely, the Best Use of Videos Category for Local Governments and the Best Collaboration Category with Climate Change Keywords.

The award ceremony was held at the National Library, Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (24/9) evening.

Jakarta Communication, Informatic and Statistic Agency's Public Policy Head Nuruning Septarida said social media has become an effective connector to messages and information to the public. Using it, the city conveys various policies, regulations, to various interesting agendas.

"We win because of viewers, comments, likes and engagement. So, many upload and share. All of the averages that are analyzed or assessed through it," she expressed, Wednesday (9/25).

The Best Use of Videos category for Local Government is a video about the Demolition of the HI Roundabout Crossing Bridge which was uploaded on July 31, 2018.

According to her, the category of Best Collaboration is given based on several the city publications content, which are deemed to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program or the Sustainable Development Goals for Climate Change.

The use of social media is also a manifestation of Public Relations 4.0 and supports the Smart City movement. Its existence is undeniably also brought us closer to the community, especially Jakartans.

"There are four official city's social media which are assessed namely, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter," she told.

She assessed that the effectiveness of program communication and publication on social media was not only from the city's performance, but the community's participation and collaboration in supporting government programs.

"Talk about smart city 4.0, it puts the city as a facilitator and the community as a co-creator. "The community is expected to participate and collaborate on the program," she stated.
