Jakarta Dept. of Transportation is about to use smart card to test the vehicles in Jakarta. The card operational was already launched by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan during the ceremony of 2019 National Transportation Day at Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta Head Dept. of Transportation, Syafrin Liputo, explained that the card replaces the test book.

"Now the vehicle test is integrated starting today by using smart card," he explained, Tuesday (9/17).

He said that by using the smart card, the data would be integrated nationally. The main point is test retribution, which is paid cashless through DKI Bank.

"The implementation will be run digitally for all vehicles in Jakarta," he said.

According to him, smart card implementation should be able to minimize vehicle emission test book forgery. It means the vehicle real data will be connected directly.

"The data is directly connected to Dept. of Transportation. No data can be manipulated," he closed.
