As many as 11,000 students of elementary schools participated in the love eating fish campaign (Gemarikan) held by the South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency, on Wednesday (9/11).

South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency Head, Fitri Desfandiari said it is a routine agenda in 13 locations that has been ongoing since last June.

"We served a variety of foods ranging from ebi furai, ebi katsu and nuggets. They were also given information and education about the benefits of eating fish," she expressed.

Targeting 2,000 students, similar activity would also be held in two other locations on September 12 and 25.

Hopefully it could contribute in meeting the nutritional needs of children and increasing the number of fish consumer in Jakarta.

"Last year similar activity was also spotted in 15 locations and managed to bring 13,200 students," she told.
