" Its capacity will be increased to 250 worshipers"
TIM Management Unit Head, Imam Hadi Purnomo disclosed that the Amir Hamzah Mosque will be revitalized with a futuristic concept in September this year, on Wednesday (9/4).
"Its capacity will be increased to 250 worshipers. Then the area of the mosque and the prayer plaza reaches 800 square meters," he expressed.
The mosque will be made more modern and minimalist by incorporating elements of art. Its location was no longer close to the TIM's main entrance or next to the Planetarium Building.
"We relocated it between the TIM Theater Building, Graha Bhakti Budaya and the Jakarta Art Institute Campus, which aims to facilitate it easier for the public and visitors to carry out worship," he explained.
During the revitalization process, the religious facilities had been moved to a place within the Teather Building temporarily.
"We also have socialized the project to the visitors," he told.
There are three activities in its revitalization such as, integrated hotel development with the public library in Cikini, basement parking development in front of the Planetarium, as well as a new Amir Hamzah Mosque development.
"This phase I work is targeted to be executed in September and finished in January 2020," he stated.
