West Jakarta Secretary, Eldi Andi symbolically plants five tabebuia trees in West Jakarta Mayor office's yard to support the realization of 200 Parks and 2 Million Plants Program initiated by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan.

"Tabebuia tree is believed to have high absorption capacity for air pollution," he said.

Formerly his side also planted tens of bougainvillea plants around mayor office's parking lot. He mentioned that PJLP personnel will take care of these plants routinely.

"We will also plant other crops or trees with similar ability on the roadside as our efforts to reduce air pollution," he stated.

For information, currently his side is still listing number of urban village and sub-district offices and schools that will be distributed pollution-absorbing plants.
