Jakarta Forestry Agency is about to optimize seed procurement independently or through cultivation in the Ciganjur Seed Garden and on Jalan Durian in Jagakarsa, Srengseng Seed Garden, Cibubur Seed Garden and Ragunan Zoo Garden Seedlings.
According to Suzi Marsitawati, Head of Jakarta Forestry Agency, plant seeds that will be optimized are bougenville, cocoloba, dadap kuning, trembesi trees, etc.
"This is very important. Not only improve aesthetics, but also to improve air quality," she said, Sunday (18/8).
Her party targets planting 2 million trees, including 1.5 million ornamental plants to be realized in 2020.
"After it is realized, the city's air quality will be much better," she explained.
So she encourages Jakartans to contribute in improving air quality by planting trees that can absorb pollutants independently.
"There are many types of plants that can be chosen, we want them to also increasingly care for the environment," she stressed.
