This Sunday (8/11) morning, Jakarta Government apparatuses and local residents performed Eid al-Adha prayer to commemorate Eid al-Adha 1440 Hijri at City Hall's yard.

" This year is quite different"

After the prayer, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan symbolically gave one limousin cattle with weight 1.2 tons to Jakarta Government Qurban Committee 2019. This cattle and other qurban animals granted by Jakarta Government will be also distributed to Jakartans who deserve alms through Dapur Kurban program, Religious and Social Institutions, and foundations in Jakarta.

"This year is quite different, because we cooperate with hotel cooks in Borobudur Hotel, Shangri-la Hotel, Dharmawangsa Hotel, and Santika Hotel to cook the meat and distribute the food via Jakarta Baznas Bazis, Rumah Zakat and Aksi Cepat Tanggap Foundation," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Conference.

In this chance, he wants to reminds people to use this moment to share happiness and be more concern to the others who in need. Through Dapur Kurban program, he also distribute the food to fire victims in Jakarta.

"It will also be distributed for fire victims who are staying in shelters. Today, we will cook qurban meat and distribute it tomorrow," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Qurban Committee 2019 informed, there are 39 cows and 7 goats from Jakarta Government officials and Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD)s. Those qurban animals are distributed to:

1. Dapur Qurban program : 17 cows

2. Social Religious Institutions and foundations in Jakarta: 16 cows and 7 goats

3. Rumah Zakat Indonesia: 6 cows

Total qurban animals from 5 Jakarta regions administratives are 150 cows and 299 goats. Each Jakarta regions are responsible to process and distribute qurban meat.
