Today, Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department together with Communication Informatics and Statistics Department (Diskominfotik) and Jakarta General Bureau visit Balkot Farm located at City Hall to harvest bok choy samhong king, red leaf lettuce, mint, and kale.
We harvest various vegetables from Balkot Farm
Jakarta KPKP Department Head, Darjamuni explained, Balkot Farm is one of Jakarta Government's efforts to optimize land by providing urban farming in City Hall.
"We harvest various vegetables from Balkot Farm. There are 20 different crops consist of vegetables, fruits, and medicinal plants in here. We use recycled materials as medium to plant these crops," he said, Thursday (7/11).
Besides crops, there are also small shack and bench made from bamboo. Thus people can enjoy urban farming while relaxing in the shack or sitting on the bench.
