Sea World and Ocean Dream Samudra Ancol Conservation Manager, Yus Anggoro Saputra stated, 1,000 kilograms of green mussels can filtrate 10,000 liters of dirty sea water per hour and eliminate 2,020 mg of Nitrogen in water. In other words, it can filtrate around 1,680,000 liters of sea water per week.

"Green mussel is one of marine biota that acts like a filter. We will not only spread the green mussels itself, but also its shells in the middle of the sea thus other green mussels and fish can use it as a media to lay their eggs," he explained.
