" China is our main potential market"
Jakarta Transportation Agency receives an award, The Best Booth Design Award at the Beijing International Travel Expo (BITE) 2019.
Their booth beats 2,100 other exhibitors from 87 countries, which is unique both in terms of design, and various supporting activities in it.
Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency Headm Edy Junaedi said that it is part of an effort to further boost foreign tourist visits to Jakarta, especially tourists from China.
"Last year more than 36,000 Chinese tourists visited Jakarta. Its number is higher than foreign tourist from other countries," he expressed, Friday (6/21).
Destination and Marketing Division Head, Hari Wibowo added that there are 10 tourism industries from Jakarta such as trip agent and hotel joined in Jakarta booths.
In addition, it is also enlivened by Abang None Jakarta as the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Ambassador, coached art team and batik maker from the Textile Museum, as well as the typical Jakarta culinary made by a professional chef.
"Besides cultural attractions and batik demonstrations, the chef also shared Jakarta's special food with visitors," he stated.
He furthered that this became the first time participating after 15 years of implementing BITE.
"Thanks God we're grateful with this achievement," he exclaimed.
Its participation is supported by the rewards as an added value in attracting foreign tourists.
"China is our main potential market. Therefore we're very important to take part in activities like this," he stressed.
As for the information, the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) is an international professional tourism exhibition sponsored by the Beijing City Tourism Development Commission. BITE runs from June 18-20.
