Jakarta Library and Archive Department (Dispusip) plans to make Baca Jakarta to be a sustainable movement in Jakarta to increase public interest in reading.
" Governor wants us to continue Baca Jakarta movement"
Actually, this movement is conducted in April with total 3,551 participants. It targets children between 7-12 years old.
"Governor wants us to continue Baca Jakarta movement. So after Eid holiday, we plan to encourage and motivate more children, especially in school age, to be interested in reading through events," said Wahyu Haryadi, Dispusip Head, Saturday (5/25).
Currently, Dispusip has more than 100 reading spaces in Jakarta, including public library, Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA)'s library, flat's library, Taman Baca Masyarakat (TMB), Pojok Baca, Garasi Baca, and others.
"Reading is the bridge to knowledge. Thus we hope there is more people to gain more knowledge by visiting our reading spaces in Jakarta," he expressed.
