Today, 100 joint personnel from Transportation Ministry, Jakarta Transportation Department, East Jakarta Transportation Sub-department (Sudinhub), East Jakarta Traffic Unit, and Garnisun close two railroad crossings in East Jakarta. Those railroad crossings are located on JPL 52 Pasar Enjo Pisangan Timur, Pulogadung and JPL 66 Penggilingan or Cakung Station.
We have socialized local residents and road users for about a month
"We have socialized local residents and road users for about a month. Now, we close the railroad crossings by installing movable concrete barriers (MCB)s and concrete slabs on the location," mentioned Andreas Eman, East Jakarta Sudihub Traffic Section Head, Saturday (5/11).
Due to railroad crossings closure, East Jakarta Sudinhub implements traffic engineering at the scene. In order to go to Pisangan Lama, vehicles from Jatinegara Station should go through Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur, Cipinang Lontar Flyover, then take a U-turn at traffic light in front of Pulogadung Police Station, turn around under the flyover and turn left into Jalan Pisangan Lama Selatan.
Meanwhile for the reverse direction, road users can ride to Jalan Raya Bekasi from Jalan Pisangan Lama Selatan, turn around in front of Pulogadung Police Station, go straight to Cipinang Lontar Flyover and take road leads to Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur.
For road users who want to go to Pondok Kopi can take a U-turn in front of East Jakarta Immigration Office. In Cakung Station crossing, take a road that leads to Penggilingan or Pulogebang and straight to Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai. Then go through Jalan Soemarno or take a U-turn at Buaran to go to Pondok Kopi Flyover.
PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Railway Safety Director, Edi Nur Salam explained, railway crossing must
be closed because his side has operated double-double track (DDT). Thus more trains will cross the railway."Train will pass per 2-4 minutes because we have applied DDT system. For the road users safety, we need to close the railway crossings," he conveyed.
