The Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives Agency (KUMKMP) is socializing the Smart Consumer Movement which aims to encourage citizens to choose good products and know their rights.
It is participated by students and other community groups, as well as representatives of Indonesian consumers foundation (YLKI), Indonesian Cosmetics Manufacturers Association (Perkosmi), and Indonesia Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
"We also want to raise awareness for business people about the importance of protecting consumers," expressed Jakarta KUKMP Agency Head, Adi Ariantara, Thursday (4/25).
It is done, as there are still many consumers who are less active in fighting for their rights thus the trust index is low and easily exploited.
"We want to create an honest and responsible atmosphere for trading," he explained.
KUMKMP's Supervision and Control Unit Head, Ety Syartika said that its socialization is held on April 25, 29, and 30. In details, on April 25, he takes theme smart consumption of cosmetics and continued with e-Commerce on April 29, and fintech on April 30," she told.
