Around 30 types of medical plants (Toga) are planted in the Utan Kayu Utara Beriman Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Matraman, East Jakarta.
Local people often use them for traditional medicine for free
"Those plants were planted on a 3,200-square-meter land, precisely on west side of the multipurpose room," expressed Utan Kayu Utara RPTRA Caretaker, Risti (40), Wednesday (4/24).
Among types of plants in the park are gandarusa (Justicia gendarussa), which is useful for healing swelling and rheumatic pain, deity tree, cat whiskers, gardenia, fennel tree, Japanese papaya, etc.
There are also okra fruit, which is able to heal cholesterol and high blood pressure, turmeric, ginger, moringa, etc.
