Waste bank is the best solution, as existing waste can be reduced and used productively

Residents living in RW 03, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands were trained on making and managing waste bank by Thousand Island Environment Sub-agency.

The training was participated by 30 people of locals, RT/RW caretakers, public facility maintenance agency (PPSU) officers, individual service providers (PJLP), Karang Taruna youth organization members, family welfare movement (PKK), and Dasa Wisma groups.

"Waste bank is the best solution, as existing waste can be reduced and used productively," expressed Public Role and Legal Structuring Section Head, Ardian Prahara, Tuesday (4/23).

It was hoped that they could make a group and make a waste bank in each settlement.

Harapan Island Urban Village Secretary, Irfan Damanhuri expressed that they were trained to make waste bank and classify organic waste for composting in the form of solid and liquid fertilizers, and non-organic for various recycled goods and crafts.

"Hopefully awareness to save in a waste bank can be realized here," he hoped.
