Jalan Raya Karet Tengsin towards Casablanca, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, which has been damaged by heavy vehicles carrying building materials, is not repaired yet. Whereas, last week, the Central Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department had a plan to concrete the road by involving the private sector.

Head of Tanah Abang Sub-District, Hidayatullah disclosed the road as long as 150 meters with 2.5 wide has long been damaged. "The road has been damaged since six months ago. We have reported it to Public Works Sub-Department, but there has been no further action until now," he told, Thursday (8/21).

According to him, Central Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department cannot throw the responsibility to other related units. "They should reprimand two private companies that make road damage, instead of throw the responsibility," he exclaimed.

He disclosed all this time the Road Public Works Sub-Department always dodged when asked to repair the damaged roads at the location. They reasoned, it was the authority of the Jakarta Public Works Department. "Sub-Department always makes excuses that the repair is the authority of the department," he explained.

Hidayatullah expressed the road damage is due to passing heavy vehicles belong to contractor of Casa Domaine Apartment project and PT Pionir. If it is repaired, it will lead to flooding. "We've reported this condition but there has been no respond," he stated.

Head of Road Maintenance Section for Central Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Agustio Ruhuseto uttered concretisation project on Jalan Raya Karet Tengsin is still stagnated due to technical implementation problem.

"Yesterday, there was an obstacle in terms of tecnical implementation. This Saturday, the road would be casted. Hopefully, there will no longer obstacle in future," he expressed.
