Around 3,500 substrates of coral reef with 14,000 seedlings will be planted in the waters of Thousand Islands as wide as 0.7 hectares. Each substrate has four seedlings.

"This type of reef is acropora that grows two to three centimeters in a year," disclosed Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Agency's Maritime Division Head, Sri Wahyuni, Friday (3/22).

According to her, Jakarta's water area reaches approximately 4,561 hectares. Thus there must be a maximum ecosystem supervision and care.

"Coral transplants will be carried out around Gosong Island, Pramuka Island, Karya Island, Panggang Island, Kelapa Dua Island, and Kelapa Island," she stated.

It will spend Rp 1.4 billion in which it is still in auction stage and targeted to be executed in the forthcoming May.
