Jakarta Health Department Head, Widyastuti encourages Jakartans to be active and fight outbreaks of dengue fever, which is by becoming a jumantik (wiggler hunter) monitoring cadre.

In addition, her side also continues to hold an anti-mosquito campaign (PSN).

Since 2005, around 160 hospitals have been involved in which they are connected with community health center (puskesmas) through web-based dengue surveillance system. By so, patients in the hospital and puskesmas can be directly inputted.

"We can also monitor and cut transmission of dengue fever based on address and name," she told.

She always coordinates with other regional working units (SKPD) such as, Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Department, which supplies mosquito larvae-eating fish seeds and mosquito repellent trees.

There is also Education Department, which helps to announce dengue alert in all schools.

"It's done by puskesmas officers, professional organizations, and universities in Jakarta," she said.
