Through PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Jakarta Government has prepared 2,700 tons of rice for market operation thus residents needs can be fulfilled and rice price can be suppressed ahead of Christmas.

We can ensure food supplies for Christmas and New Year are still sufficient

Jakarta Economic Bureau Head, Sri Haryati stated, Jakarta Government has prepared several plans to anticipate price increase on staple commodities, including rice supply, that usually happens ahead of Christmas.

"We have held premium-quality rice operation at Cipinang Rice Central Market (PIBC) by selling 2,000 tons of rice. As the result, premium-quality rice price goes down from Rp 9,255 into Rp 8,750 per kilogram," she explained, Thursday (12/20).

According to her, food supplies in Jakarta is still safe and stable ahead of Christmas and New Year.

"It is also stable for other food supplies, such as meat and egg. We can ensure food supplies for Christmas and New Year are still sufficient," she said.
