Jakarta Government is managed to get an award in Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) by obtaining the highest score from Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS).
" We want province with the best index to be a role or reference for other provinces"
This award is submitted by Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam), Wiranto to Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan in a hotel on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta.
BPS Head, Suhariyanto explained, assessment is done to 34 provinces in Indonesia. The first rank is DKI Jakarta Province, second is Jogjakarta, third is North Kalimantan, and fourth is Bangka Belitung Islands.
"We want province with the best index to be a role or reference for other provinces," he expressed in IDI 2017 Awarding event as well as Indonesian Democracy Index book launching, Thursday (12/13).
Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan said, Jakarta gets 87.73 points for Civil Liberties Index; 80.06 points for Political Rights Index; and 87.12 points for Democracy Institutions Index.
"This achievement shows that Jakartans has maturity in democracy. We are very grateful for this award," he expressed.
He wants democracy in Jakarta can continue to be strengthen by good principles and soothing for all parties.
"If Jakarta has maturity in democracy, in carrying out basic rights, it can have implications in many things," he expressed.
