One trainer who came from Jogjakarta, Dani said, he trains participants how to create natural dye from indigo plants (Latin name: indigofera tinctoria) or locally known as tarum (West Java) or tom (Jogjakarta). It is used to paint batik pattern based on Seribu Islands nature.
"We will paint it based on Seribu Islands nature. Later, we will bring indigo plant seeds and plant it here because weather in here support this plant to grow,"
Seribu Islands Regent, Husein Murad stated, previously residents made batik with Seribu Island's Betawi patterns and he assessed it has a good quality and worth for sell. He hopes current batik training also gives a good result and worth for sell.
"In the future, participants who join this batik training will be facilitated as entrepreneur group in developing its entrepreneurship," he conveyed.
