Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, attended the MH Thamrin Journalistic Award held by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) along with DKI Jakarta Communication, Information and Statistics Dept. (Diskominfotik) at City Hall.

In his speech, he stated, the MH Thamrin 2018 Journalistic Award that entered its 44th year shows a long-term collaboration between Jakarta Provincial Government and PWI in appreciating journalistic works.
"I hope that similar activities become examples in other places to give appreciation to journalists," he expressed, at the location, Thursday (11/22) night.
As the capital city, Jakarta is one of the highlights. He also invited journalists to guard the objectivity of the news thus the development program in the capital would run in accordance with the corridor.
In the meantime, Jakarta PWI Chairman, Endang Werdiningsih expressed her grateful to the ranks of Jakarta Diskominfotik that has helped the activity from the beginning of preparation, judging until the awarding.
"The journalistic works that are included in this journalistic competition were to provide input to the city government for future improvements," she told.
As for the information, there are 10 categories of competitions consisting of general articles, editorials, photography, caricatures, public services, television broadcasting, radio and online features, as well as sports features.
It was held to accommodate journalistic work that is constructive and critical of the results of development in the capital and provides a means for journalists to display the best work.
