Passenger Boats Manufacturing for Seribu Islands Reaches 80 Percent

Progress in manufacturing six passenger boats for Seribu Islands residents has reached 80 percent. Soon, those boats will be tested gradually from mid of this November.

After that, we only need to paint and install the machine. We will gradually test the boats from the middle of this month

Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub)'s Sea Transportation and Ports Management Unit Head, M. Faris mentioned, boat bodies manufacture and supporting equipment installation are now completed.

"After that, we only need to paint and install the machine. We will gradually test the boats from the middle of this month," he said, Thursday (11/8).

According to him, budget for manufacturing these boats is allocated Rp 24 billion. While boats manufacturing has been started since June.

"If all processes including permits and document issuance are completed by the end of November, these vessels can operate in December," he informed.
