Our team gets information that there are victims who are buried in ruins

The city response team from group two, which is a personnel from City Fire and Rescue Dept., helped evacuate earthquake victims at Anutapura General Hospital (RSU), West Palu, Central Sulawesi.

In the humanitarian mission, the response team along with the joint team managed to evacuate a body from the ruins of Anutapura Hospital.

City Fire and Rescue Dept. Team Coordinator Head, Sunaryo stated that the body was found when a joint team began conducting sweeping on the fourth floor of the destroyed hospital building.

"Our team gets information that there are victims who are buried in ruins. We then conduct sweeping with devices such as snake cameras and temperature detection devices," he expressed, Thursday (10/4).

Using the devices, the team managed to detect the body position. Unfortunately the victim was found dead and immediately evacuated.

"The victim is identified as Kamaria. From the hospital, the body will be handed over to the family," he told.

After evacuation, the response team continued to conduct sweeping and evacuation towards medical devices needed by the hospital and can still be used.

"Sweeping and evacuation process will be done intensively," he stated.
