Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan mentioned, his side will replace Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) on Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta with Pelican Crossing.
We will start its construction on next weekend
"It will be used to facilitate people to cross especially those with special needs, including pregnant women, elders, and disabled people," he explained at City Hall, Tuesday (7/24).
He conveyed the reason his side demolishes JPO in Bundaran HI is to make people can easily see the Welcome Monument, the Jakarta icon.
Moreover, Pelican Crossing is chosen to replace it because PT. MRT Jakarta hasn't completed underground pedestrian crossing construction.
"Pelican Crossing construction will involve Transportation Dept. and Bina Marga Dept.," he informed.
He added, this new crossing facility is estimated to cost around Rp 100 billion.
"We will start its construction on next weekend. Hope it does not take long to complete because it is relatively simple," he stated.
