Based on analysis, most students in boarding vocational school has discipline character

Jakarta DRD's Commission III Community Welfare Member, Azwar Manaf said his side has analyzed and observed several boarding vocational schools in Indonesia since 2015.

"Based on analysis, most students in boarding vocational school have discipline character," he said, after Jakarta DRD workshop at Great Hall, UI Library, Depok, West Java, Wednesday (12/7).

He mentioned the purpose of this concept is to break poverty chains through education in Jakarta. Because students are taught to be discipline, diligence and responsible and supported by facilities to fulfill their needs.

He gives examples such as SMK 61 in Seribu Islands and SMK 63 Jagakarsa, South Jakarta which have dormitory. In other words, boarding vocational school is not a new concept, but must be supported and directed.

"This could be realized through synergy between stakeholders and government institutions," he affirmed.
