West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. keeps trying to solve inundation problem at Jalan Patra, Duri Kepa Urban Village and Jalan Harun, Sukabumi Selatan, Kebon Jeruk.

" Talk about two pumps with 2,000 liters per second and collapsible pond, its installation is targeted to be completed by the end of this year,"

According to Imron, Head of West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept., inundation that hit Jalan Patra is triggered by the overflowing waters of the Kebun Raya Connecting Channel.

"Stationary pumps at the channel are not able to suck up water into Sekretaris River. Thus the water spilled out and flooded Jalan Patra," he stated, Monday (11/13).

His side also has alerted five mobile pumps with 150-200 liters per second in order to suck up inundation on Jalan Patra.

To solve it totally, his side makes a 12 x 4-meter collapsible pond as deep as four meters and installs two stationary pumps with 1,000 liters per second capacity.

"Talk about two pumps with 2,000 liters per second and collapsible pond, its installation is targeted to be completed by the end of this year," he expressed.

As for the inundation on Jalan Harun, Sukabumi Selatan Urban Village, he assessed, is triggered by unfinished normalization of Sekretaris River.

He added flood handling in Sukabumi Selatan is still constrained by land acquisition for the normalization project.

"We have proposed the land acquisition owned by residents realized in 2018 for the normalization of Sekretaris River," he finished.
