West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. has proposed water channel normalization on Jalan Raya Panjang towards Mookevart River through 2018 APBD. It is purposed to overcome inundation problem.

"It will be realized next year," said Imron, Head of West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept., Tuesday (11/7).

Nevertheless, his party has not confirmed the amount of budget allocated for channel normalization on Jalan Panjang-Mookevart River. 

"We're optimistic it is effective in reducing inundation," he stated.

He admitted, another constraint that causes inundation on Jalan Panjang is illegal buildings standing on the edge of Angke River.

"There are hundreds of buildings, thus we can't install sheet pile at Angke River," he closed.
