Jakarta Provincial Government have won numerous environment awards in 2017.

Those awards are Adipura Trophies for Central Jakarta and South Jakarta Administrations, Adipura Certificates for East Jakarta and West Jakarta Administration, and Adipura Placard of The Best Terminal category for East Jakarta Administration.

These awards were obtained after Jakarta Provincial Government did various efforts to protect and manage environment in waste management, green spaces management, water pollution control, and air pollution control. These achievements were also obtained because City can maintain its cleanliness and city environment management.

Not only that, Djarot Saiful Hidayat also got Nirwasita Tantra Award, an award that is given to regional head for the leadership in order to improve environment quality regarding to document information on regional environment management performance, responses, and innovations that have been or are being run in the region.

Kalpataru was also received by Mahariah (47), a teacher from State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MIN) 17, Campus B, Panggang Island, North of Seribu Island. Her care towards environment makes her obtaining Environmentalist category award. She is considered success in maintaining and conserving mangrove environment, coral reefs, and her role in developing conservation tourism forest.

Adiwiyata Mandiri was given to four schools in City; SDN Wijaya Kusuma 02 (public elementary school), SDN Kebon Jeruk 11 West Jakarta, SMKN 27 Central Jakarta (public vocational school), and SMPN 140 North Jakarta (public junior high school). Adiwiyata Mandiri is an award given for school which is considered able to realize environment culture in all school aspects and has succeeded in fostering school to participate in environmental cultivation and preserve school environment as a safe, comfortable, and fun place to study.

Besides, RW 07 of Kebayoran Lama Selatan Urban Village, RW 03 of Rawajati Urban Village, and RW 06 of Kebon Kosong Urban Village were nominated in national program, Kampung Iklim (Proklim) 2017.

Proklim is an award given to community at RW-urban village level that has realized an action related to climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Those awards were given by Indonesia's President, Joko Widodo and Environment and Forestry Minister, Siti Nurbaya at the peak of Environment Day (HLH) 2017 at Manggala Wanabakti Auditorium, Wednesday (8/2) night.

Jakarta Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji said, City has achieved numerous of achievements and it will encourage his side to improve their performance. "Mr. Governor also reminded us not to be complacent," he said, Thursday (8/3).

He promised will improve cleanliness management program by maintaining its well performance and increase public participation in waste reduction through Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) program.

To control air pollution, he added that his side will intensify emission test and gas fuel (BBG) usage.

Not only campaigns about urban farming and agriculture for green spaces management, he continued, Environment Dept. will also be actived to collaborate with various environmental communities to plant mangrove on the Jakarta coast and other environmental conservation activities.

"Adiwiyata School Training, Kampung Iklim Training, and Initiation of Green Building Implementation in Jakarta will be improved also," he closed.
