Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama asserted that the flats located around Pluit Dam are only dedicated to local residents living around the dam. That includes the 400 units of Muara Baru Flat which have been occupied, but allegedly many occupants are people who are not entitled to live there. Thus, they will be evicted.
"Only local residents who had lived in Pluit Dam allowed to live in flats around here "
Previously around the end of May, the Management of Rental Flat Unit Region I did data collection on the agreement letter (SP) for rental units. Of 400 flat occupants, 70 of them have not made the agreement letter.
“Unfortunately, 400 units of Muara Baru Flat are occupied by thugs. They don’t have permit to do so, but they occupy the flat units recklessly. They must get out before June ends. Only local residents who had lived in Pluit Dam allowed to live in flats around here ,” stressed Basuki, Monday (6/16).
Moreover, Basuki realized that many people are still living around the dam because most of them make a living in the surrounding area. Even, many of them are working in the fish industry at Muara Baru Port.
“In the future, we want to buy land again to build additional flats before relocating the residents. Later, the overall concept of this dam is park and on its right and left sides will be empty from settlement. I have given Intiland permission to do reclamation,” he disclosed.
According to Basuki, the point of relocation is humanized humans. Therefore, the relocation process will wait for the flats construction finished.
“We’ll wait for the flats construction finished. They (local residents) are humans, not goods. So, we’ll provide a more decent place for them. If there was misunderstanding, that is natural,” he uttered.
