Jakarta Provincial Government will use its land in Ciangir, Tangerang, Banten to plant chili.

We have checked the land. Now we prepare for planting

Jakarta Head Dept. of Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture (KPKP), Darjamuni, said city has 100 meter square in Ciangir. 30 percent of the land will be used for planting chili. The remaining land is in form of pond and field.

“We have checked the land. Now we prepare for planting,” he said, Sunday (1/8).

His side has formed team to conduct survey about how many seeds can be planted there. After cleaning the land, planting will be started.

“We prefer big-size chili since its necessity in Jakarta is high,” he added.

The seeds will be taken from existing seeds from several gardens. His side will use city budget if the planting is more than 30 hectares.

“Our assumption one hectare will produce one ton chili in a year,” he closed.
