Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, emphasized the central role of fathers as role models within the family. He stated, a father's integrity directly influences the quality of the next generation and is also a key factor in the effort to prevent corruption.
Investment to build a generation
He delivered this statement in his speech at the anti-corruption socialization event and the celebration of National Father's Day 2025 at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (12/2).
"In a family, when a father plays a central role, he is always a role model. When the father is good, the role model is good. When the father is not good, the role model is definitely not good either," he expressed.
He also highlighted the importance of the father's role in solving social challenges in Jakarta. He revealed data up to the end of November 2025, where the Jakarta Women's and Children's Service Center received 1,096 reports of child abuse cases, with 56 percent of the cases occurring at home.
"Therefore, this naturally becomes our concern on how the country or government should be present for these matters. Hence, we fully support the steps taken by BKKBN, the Indonesian Exemplary Father Movement," he explained.
He continued that the Jakarta government is continuously making improvements. He noted that Jakarta's global city ranking index has increased from 74 to 71.
Besides physical development, he also focuses on creating a more humane and comfortable Jakarta, one of which is by increasing green open spaces and extending the operational hours of public spaces.
"When the complexity of the issues is so great, I believe Jakarta can become the best example," he continued.
Meanwhile, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Minister, Arifah Fauzi, expressed appreciation to the Jakarta Inspectorate for collaborating with the Jakarta Women's Empowerment and Child Protection and Population Control Agency (PPAPP) in organizing this activity.
"We will discuss issues that truly determine the future of the nation. How we build integrity from home, and how fathers play an important role in shaping the character of the generations," he added.
He also emphasized the importance of a father's role who is emotionally, morally, and ethically present, not just physically. Studies show that active involvement of fathers in parenting reduces violence and shapes children to be empathetic, confident, and resistant to corruption.
"In other words, strengthening the role of fathers is an investment to build a generation that is characterized, empathetic, and resistant to the temptation of corruption. Fathers with integrity are the foundation for an honest nation," he explained.
Thereby, strengthening the role of fathers is not only about fulfilling family roles but also about investing in the future of the nation.
Jakarta Inspector, Dhany Sukma added that the event held under the theme "Father with Integrity, Quality Generation" aims to strengthen the role and involvement of fathers in parenting, protection, and character building of children.
Aside that, this event also reinforces the exemplary role of fathers as an essential foundation in building an honest and anti-corruption family culture.
This event was attended by 400 participants who are male civil servants (ASN), the Planned Generation Forum (Genre), and related stakeholders.
He hoped that this activity can support the realization of Jakarta as a progressive, cultured, and integrated global city.
"As an internal oversight agency of the Jakarta government, the Inspectorate plays a role in enhancing integrity, governance, and the effectiveness of corruption prevention within the Jakarta government environment," he stated.
