Deputy Jakarta Governor, Rano Karno attended the Marketing Gathering MRT Jakarta 2025 at Thamrin Nine Ballroom, Chubb Square, Kebon Melati, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Friday (11/14).

MRT is a most exciting journey

To MRT partners who have had business cooperation, Rano assured them not to hesitate to continue their business investment with PT MRT Jakarta.

"MRT Jakarta is one of the six Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) of the Jakarta Provincial Government which is in the largest category," Rano said.

With 3.3 million passengers per month and up to 40 million annually, the Jakarta MRT has a strong market segment. According to Rano, this passenger data represents a profitable business opportunity if managed properly.

MRT Jakarta is currently expanding its line to Kota Tua. Besides the potential to increase passenger numbers, Rano emphasized that his ranks will also organize areas related to the line expansion, such as Kota Tua, Bundaran HI, and Jalan Thamrin.

Not only Kota Tua, Rano continued that the Jakarta Provincial Government is currently preparing a concept for developing the Pasar Baru area, which is located not far from the MRT line expansion.

The development of Pasar Baru will be integrated with the Lapangan Banteng area, which includes the AA Maramis Building, owned by the Ministry of Finance.

Later on, Rano explained, the Pasar Baru area will be developed into a tourist center and a major event center with high business potential.

Rano admitted he would also prepare a park on Jalan Thamrin, directly above the Bundaran HI - Kota Tua MRT line expansion. He estimated the park's path along the expansion would be approximately 6 kilometers.

He also plans to build a sister city with New York City and one of the main implementations is cooperation in developing the Jakarta MRT.

"I want to assure you that the MRT is a most exciting journey. And I thank you for your cooperation. I hope we can continue," he stated.
