East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin together with his ranks inspected revitalization project of Aneka Elok Reservoir in Penggilingan, and Pekayon Reservoir in Pekayon Urban Village.

Munjirin said the revitalization of those reservoirs are conducted by East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency through third party mechanisms.

"This reservoir revitalization program is one of the efforts to overcome inundation and flooding in East Jakarta," he said, Tuesday (11/11).

Munjirin explained that after the revitalization is completed, the existence of reservoirs and ponds will not only be felt for controlling flooding or inundation, but can also be used as spaces for community interaction, tourism, and sports facilities.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency, Abdul Rauf admitted there have been no significant obstacles in the work process, except when there is heavy rain.

"This revitalization will certainly increase the capacity of reservoirs and ponds," he admitted.

According to him, Giri Kencana Reservoir can reduce approximately 20,000 cubic meters of water from the Cilangkap area. Furthermore, the capacity of the Aneka Elok Reservoir has been increased from 6,000 cubic meters to 10,000 cubic meters.

"A pump unit with a capacity of 2,000 liters per second is also added to accelerate the reduction of waterlogging around the reservoir area," he stated.
