Jakarta Transportation Agency is about to apply traffic diversion on Sunday, August 17, 2025. It aims to smooth the implementation of 80th Anniversary of the Independence Day's People Party.

The event will be held in two sessions, namely at 12 PM-4 PM and 5:30 PM to 11 PM.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo explained several roads around Monas will be impacted by the traffic diversion such as Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan Budi Kemuliaan, Jalan MH Thamrin (Kuda Statue Intersection up to Kebon Sirih Intersection), Jalan Veteran I-III, and East side of Jalan Majapahit.

"This diversion will adjust traffic conditions in the area to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event," he said, Thursday (8/14).

The alternative routes prepared during the traffic diversion are as follows:

1. From the East (Pasar Senen) heading to West (Harmoni) may use Jalan Senen Raya- Jalan Kwini I-Jalan Abdul Rahman Saleh-Jalan Kramat Kwitang-Turn West-West-Jalan Kramat Kwitang-Jalan Arief Rahman Hakim-Tugu Tani-Jalan M Ridwan Rais-Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur-Jalan Perwira-Jalan Katedral-Jalan Veteran and so on may use Jalan Gunung Sahari- Jalan Budi Utomo-Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara-Jalan Katedral-Jalan Veteran and so on;

2. From the South (Cikini) heading to North (Jalan Veteran) may use Jalan Menteng Raya-Jalan Arief Rahman Hakim-Tugu Tani-Jalan MI Ridwan Rais-Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur-Jalan Perwira-Jalan Katedral and so on;

3. From the North (Jalan Gunung Sahari) heading to South (Tugu Tani) may use Jalan Dr. Sutomo-Jalan Gedung Kesenian-Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara-Jalan Katedral-Jalan Taman Pejambon-Jalan Perpustakaan Nasiona l-Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur and so on;

4. From Jalan Batu III heading to North (Harmoni) may use Jalan Merdeka Utara Timur-Jalan Tani-Jalan MI Ridwan Rais-Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur-Jalan Perwira-Jalan Katedral-Jalan Veteran and so on;

5. From West (Tomang) heading to East (Pasar Senen) may use Jalan Tomang Raya-Jalan Kyai Caringin-Balikpapan-Jalan Suryopranoto-Jalan Ir Juanda-Jalan Pos-Jalan Dr Sutomo-Jalan Gunung Sahari and so on.

Syafrin added that there are 17 parking locations with total of 10,794 parking units, namely 5,401 parking units for motorcycle and 5,393 parking units for car.

The 17 parking locations are as follows;

- BUMN Ministry

- Telkom STO Gambir Building

- Perpustakaan Nasional

- Lemhanas

- Indosat Ooredoo Office

- Djakarta Theater Building

- Jaya Building

- Wahid Hasyim

- Plaza Indonesia

- Grand Indonesia

Meanwhile, Transjakarta bus operations that intersect with the activity location will also undergo changes in operating patterns and situational route modifications while traffic arrangements are in place.

"We urge the public who will attend to use public transportation and follow the officers directions," he stated.
