The South Jakarta Water Resources Agency is dredging mud in the Baru Barat River, Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, Kalibata Urban Village, Pancoran Sub-district.

Heavy Equipment Monitoring Task Force, Arifin said dredging was done to anticipate extreme weather and high rainfall at the beginning of 2025.

"We do a dredging as deep as one meter," he expressed, Thursday (1/30).

He explained it was done by sending an excavator which is able to dredge 15 cubic meters of mud.

"We also sent three dump trucks to transport the mud to the disposal site," he explained.

He hoped that it could prevent flooding, especially in RT 02/04, Kalibata Urban Village.

"Hopefully, we can finish it next month," he added.

The dredging above received appreciation from one of the residents, Rezha Ariviandi.

"This is very effective. Hopefully, there will be no more floods in the surrounding area," he hoped.
