Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) held socialization of Electronic Recapitulation System or locally known as SiRekap as the preparation of Gubernatorial Election 2024.
The socialization was held at JS Luwansa Hotel, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, Thursday (11/14) and attended by representatives of Governor and Vice Governor candidate pairs, Commander of Jaya Military Command, Chief of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Head of Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, Head of Jakarta Regional Intelligence Agency, Head of Jakarta Kesbangpol, Head of Jakarta Bawaslu, Cross-Mass Organization Forum, and Community Early Warning Forum.
This socialization emphasized that SiRekap, an application that has been used since the last election, will continue to be used with a number of improvements to ensure accuracy, transparency, and ease of use in the upcoming regional elections.
Jakarta KPU's Data and Information Division Head, Fahmi Zikrillah, said a number of significant changes have been made to improve the performance of SiRekap.
"One of the differences of SiRekap, KPPS must ensure the match between the recapitulation photo and the numbers converted from the image before sending data to SiRekap server. After being matched, KPPS as the SiRekap operator can lock the data, create a PDF, and send it to the server for public access," Fahmi said.
The latest version of SiRekap is also equipped with an arithmetic guard feature that will provide a warning if there is a discrepancy between the uploaded photo and vote count, so that the accuracy and transparency of the vote count results can be more guaranteed.
Fahmi added that Jakarta KPU has conducted many evaluations and improvements to SiRekap based on input from various parties. The KPU is optimistic that this application can run more optimally and support the transparent vote recapitulation process.
"The SiRekap photo results can be published through the infopemilu.kpu.go.id.portal just one day after the vote counting is complete. That's our target. The public can see the results of the vote recapitulation and monitor if there are any discrepancies, such as shifting votes from one pair to another," he added.
Based on the simulation, he continued, KPU estimated that the vote counting process would be completed at around 4 PM, so that the publication of the results through SiRekap could be done on time.
