The West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is dredging a water channel on Jalan Puri Kembangan Raya, RT 11/05, South Kedoya Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district.

Kebon Jeruk Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Suprapto said the channel was dredged up to 100 meters long.

"This dredging of mud and garbage is done because there has been shallowing. We dredge to a depth of 30 to 40 centimeters," he expressed, Thursday (10/17).

He explained the work involved seven personnel.

"It has been ongoing since October 15, 2024, and is targeted for completion in a week," he explained.

He hoped that the channel could accommodate the water in large quantities and the water can flow smoothly into the Kali Pesanggrahan River macro channel.

"Hopefully, it will be effective in preventing puddles. I ask residents to help maintain the cleanliness of the channels by not littering," he stressed.

The work received appreciation from a School Security Officer, Budi Murni (47).

"It will increase the water capacity and can prevent overflow when it rains," he stated.
